The Sean Bell verdict . . .

Need I say more? I know there are a lot of people enraged about this. If you are, then I am definitely right here with you because this verdict now says that cops have the right to do whatever they want to any minority and will not suffer any consequences for thier actions. Now, for those of you who know me well - I am not the type of guy to quickly pull the race card, but this is a completely different situation.

Check this out . . .

My man got taken in by the cops saturday night because he was "wearing the color grey" . . . Are you kidding me? So you know this guy is a member of dance team SPREAD and when he "got taken in"(insider for those who know who I'm talking about) it was directly after a Team SPREAD meeting. Not to sound like some goody goody, but we are all good young men who are trying to do something positive with our lives and the cops want to try and shut us down. And my boy is not only a great dancer, but also an honors student in a Catholic school who is graduating at the end of May. So what do the cops have on him? . . . Nothing.

Luckily after being in the cell for two days, he is back home and is about to press charges on the cops because they did not give him his one phone call or even read him his rights upon him being taken in. But knowing the outcome of the Sean Bell case, I don't think it will take him very far.

For those of you who don't know the Sean Bell case, check out this song called "Sean" by an underground artist by the name of Mickey Factz here(ITZ Mickey)

I don't know how you feel about this, but I don't know what's wrong with these cops. And my prediction is this is going to be one violent summer out in New York City.

Sean Bell Verdict Response: get involved in local politics!

The only way to stop police brutality is to change the laws that protect this type of behavior.

Protesting was effective in the 60s because the media, even if misrepresenting the truth, provided an open platform for speech.

However, in our current state on monopolized media protesting is not effective in spearheading political change. The only way to do this is to challenge the authorities with your voice. Let them know if change does NOT occur, she/he will lose a political seat.

Remember ALL POLITICS IS LOCAL, the national government political power starts at the municipality and State governments.
