Is Hip Hop really dead?

I used to say Hip Hop is dead way before Nas even presented the idea of his album which was titled as such. My first ideas concerning this was around 2005; in my freshman year of high school. But after careful observation I have realized that this isn't neccesarily true.

My new theory is that what is happening to Hip Hop, is similar to how rock music is.

There are many different genre's of rock music. There is Soft Rock, Pop Rock, Classical Rock, and even Death Metal but all are still under the umbrella of Rock music. During the transitional phase of this genre, many of its original fans felt that the new "Rock" wasn't real.

This is exactly what is happening to Hip Hop.

As this culture grows, it is clashing with other art forms and other genres of music. This is what I believe is causing this "re-birth" of the Hip Hop culture. With introduction of the new art forms, the "classic" crowd who has grown with this style of music feels that hip hop is dead. However, I believe that Hip Hop is merely experiencing a Renaissance era.

Basically, a new/urban Renaissance is beggining . . .

it's just evolving. it can't die.
because no matter what, i'll still bump reasonable doubt every once in a while.
